What makes this such a great Autumn photography trip?
Autumn is a fantastic time to photograph the beauty of the North Wales landscape. The golden sunrises and sunsets spread out across wide expanses of land, sky and sea with wide sandy beaches. A lush green and rugged mountain landscape, photogenic light houses, set against the backdrop of Snowdonia with its waterfalls, mist filled valleys and mottled sunlight… Creating beautiful images ripe for our cameras.
From our base in Bangor we’ll mainly explore the coast of Anglesey as well as a few locations around Snowdonia.
Our days can be long and full, starting before sunrise and ending after sunset so we can take full advantage of the best light of the day. The itinerary for this trip can flex depending upon weather but may include Eglwys Cwyfan, Llanddwyn Bay with the dead trees, wide expanse of beach and the famous lighthouse, South Stack lighthouse, Elin’s Tower, Parys Mountain, Llanberis, Llyn Padarn, Llyn Ogwen, Snowdonia, and the Menai Bridge.
I don’t tend to schedule time for editing during the trip, but I’m happy to take a look at your photos and review during the trip. But if time does allow then I am always flexible. I do offer a free 1 hour editing and selection follow-up.
Before taking any photos we will look at how the landscape presents itself, how the weather and light sits and how it may move and change. We’ll consider the best framing and composition and how to experiment with different ideas and view points, picking out different elements of the landscape and using them to best effect. I am on hand at all times to offer help and advice about composition and technique to help you get the very best from every location.
My trips are structured for photographers of all photo abilities; For beginners who need additional help, we provide assistance, evaluation and guidance throughout from an experienced landscape and travel photographer. For experienced photographers, you have the benefit of joining a workshop with a guide with excellent local knowledge. I want photographers of all abilities to leave the workshop with an amazing array of quality images to be proud of. Transport during the workshop is typically in a spacious comfortable air-conditioned people carrier.
I have spare sets of 5 and 10 stop filter kits for attendees to borrow for long exposure photography.
Post workshop follow-up and review
After the workshop I offer a free one hour 1-2-1 online session to help you select images for editing, suggestions and assistance on how to edit and answer any questions you may have.
Access to private members Facebook group
We also have a private Facebook group where members can join and post images for feedback and I answer questions and give help and advice.
